Biography
Marcy Shelton offers a full range of commercial real estate law services to her clients involving the sale, acquisition, development, lease and finance of complex real estate projects in Tennessee and in HUD insured transactions throughout the United States. Marcy represents sellers developers, landlords and lenders, as well as individual and corporate investors. She navigates real estate matters for all asset classes, including multifamily, office, retail, industrial and mixed-use which often require knowledge of IRS 1031 like kind exchanges and preparation of appropriate organization documents for her clients. She serves regularly as local counsel on multi-state transactions and the issuance of legal opinions in support of commercial finance transactions, including Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and HUD. Marcy served as investigating disciplinary counsel with the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility and is a frequent lecturer at legal seminars on ethics, real estate and title insurance.
